If there’s one roadside attraction in Texas that we’ve been particularly eager to visit, it’s the Eiffel Tower in Paris, TX.

As big fans of the original French structure, this quirky, cowboy-hat-sporting Eiffel Tower replica has been high on our Texas bucket list.

And, when a road trip finally took us near this small city in North Texas, we knew it was time for a detour.

Where is the Paris, Texas Eiffel Tower?

The Texas Eiffel Tower stands just outside of the center of Paris, Texas, next to an easy-to-access parking lot.

The parking lot also provides access to the Love Civic Center and the Red River Valley Veteran’s Memorial.

There’s ample free parking in front of the tower, and the address is 2025 S Collegiate Dr, Paris, TX 75460.

Paris, Texas itself is located in northeast Texas, less than 20 miles south of the Oklahoma border along US-271.

What’s it like to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, TX?

We had a blast visiting the Texas Eiffel Tower!

The tower is very easy to find via GPS, and we were able to park right in front of it.

After waiting for a couple of other families to take their turn snapping photos, we were able to walk under and around the tower, and take plenty of our own photos.

Though the tower wasn’t crowded at all on the day we visited, we were also never alone there.

A steady stream of road trippers came by, all eager to see the red-cowboy-hat wearing Eiffel Tower replica for themselves.

As one of the many fun roadside attractions in Texas, the Eiffel Tower takes care of itself for the most part–there’s no staff, no tickets, and no formal organization (or any need for any).

After enjoying the tower, we also stopped to pay our respects at the Red River Valley Veteran’s Memorial, which is beautifully done and right next door.

Even with that addition, it doesn’t take long to see–we spent about 15-20 minutes visiting the replica, and much of that time was spent stretching our legs from the drive.

The Paris, Texas Eiffel Tower is 65 feet tall, including the red cowboy hat that was added 5 years after it was built.

Rumor has it that the hat was added in part to make sure that Texas’ Eiffel Tower was taller than Paris, Tennessee’s, which was built a few years before ours and stands 60 feet tall.

Since the tower is located next to an open parking lot, it never closes.

We hear it’s supposed to be very cool to see in the evening because just like in France, the Texas Eiffel Tower can be lit up at night.

What else is there to do in Paris, TX?

Outside of the Eiffel Tower, there are several other fun things to do in Paris, TX!

If you have more time in town, definitely head to the historic center to peruse the shops in their town square.

The main square, or plaza, is home to the beautiful Culbertson Fountain that immediately draws the eye.

Other things to do in Paris, TX include visiting the Sam Bell Maxey House, the Heritage Hall Historical Museum, Evergreen Cemetery, and of course, the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial.

You’ll also find fun and whimsical nods to Paris, France throughout town, including a French-inspired bakery and a welcome sign quoting Audrey Hepburn that “Paris is always a good idea”.

Is it worth visiting the Texas Eiffel Tower?

I wouldn’t drive all the way across the Lone Star State for it, but if you happen to be in the vicinity, it’s well worth a detour.

We had a great time visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, TX, and would definitely recommend a quick stop to anyone passing through town.

Is the Texas Eiffel Tower the biggest Eiffel Tower replica?

Sadly, as much as we want to believe that absolutely everything is bigger in Texas, our Eiffel Tower replica is actually a bit on the petite side at 1/10th the size of the original (unlike many replicas though, it is built to scale).

There are more than 50 Eiffel Tower replicas around the world, with the tallest being Tokyo’s (almost 2,000 feet and almost twice the height of the original) and the tallest in the USA being Las Vegas’ replica.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris, TX is the only one with a cowboy hat, though, and is one of the most famous Eiffel Tower replicas thanks to the fact that it is unmistakably Texan.
