Why making a meaningless sequel? Rated 1/5 Stars •Rated 1 out of 5 stars08/09/23 Full Review G T Unimpressive acting, too many cliches(maverick marine and gung ho sexy blonde eg) and old style story of soldiers surrounded and attacked by fanatics. Only saving grace being the plot is believable though boring, plus there's lots of bullets and explosions. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars07/24/23 Full Review Alexander C Over acted and dam, how did they not run out of ammo? Story with huge promise, ruined with bad directing and a poor story arc. If you are bored and need a film for the background this may do, but anything else... i would say avoide. Rated 1.5/5 Stars •Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars03/27/23 Full Review dave j Marine Evan Albright is the new recruitment to US embassy where he is introduced to Gunnery sergeant major Scott Adkins Rated 3/5 Stars •Rated 3 out of 5 stars03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Mindless crap. These guys have bottomless mags. Kind of like going to a cafe and paying for a bottomless coffee. All you can drink. The number of rounds these guys fired would mean they'd need to be supported by a truck carrying mags. standard mag is 30 rounds. Lets do a double tap shall we. Oh. That's 15 shots. Now. How many mags could you carry in a assault vest you reckon? John Wayne would be proud. Hell boy, them Kamanchehs l didn't stand a chance. Crap story, crap acting, crap! Rated 0.5/5 Stars •Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A truly awful part of the franchise and a complete piss poor reflection of the Marine Corps. Not one Marine changed his mag once, weapons were constantly on rapid fire, the only person to change mags once was the "spook" played by Sasha Jackson (who clearly paid attention in boot camp, either that or she has been using firearms for a long time because her discipline and situation awareness was on point compared to the rest of her co-stars. Waste of time and money. If you wanna make a war film that actually goes with the franchise maybe follow examples from the previous two films and hire a military advisor who wasn't in the military for maybe two seconds, someone with actual experience might help! This is becoming one of the best B action movie series' and it didn't try to do too much, which actually helped the movie. This is nothing comparable to 13 Hours, but for what it was it was entertaining and very watchable. Overall, worth watching and is pretty entertaining.

Ultimately, "Jarhead" winds up feeling like Platoon without the intrigue. Without characteristically great performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx, there wouldn't be much reason to tune into this one. Jarhead is a decent psudo-war movie. It isn't overly preachy or gung-ho.
Despite being a self-contained true story, the movie spawned three sequels that were released many years later. Aside from bearing the recognizable Jarhead moniker, none of the sequels continue the story from the original, and all of the movies are disconnected from one another.
I was reluctant to buy this after owning the first "Jarhead" which I was highly disappointed in basically 2 hrs of b.s. But this film although not really a sequel was actually pretty good if your a huge war movie buff or an ex marine, as I am both I definitely recommend it; lots of action (unlike the first one) and a ...

Maybe you didn't know this, but there are straight-to-video sequels to JARHEAD, the 2005 Sam Mendes war film based on the memoir by Anthony Swofford. They're not about Swofford, or other real people. They're just unrelated fictional stories about Marines in the Middle East.
terms were meant as insults to Marines, but the Corps and its members embraced them. Three such words are “gyrenes,” “jarheads,” and “grunts.” Their times of origin and usage differ somewhat, but each has the same role in the Marine Corps culture. They have become a source of pride for all Marines.
"Jarhead" is rated R for frequent use of strong profanity, strong scenes of war violence (including shootings and other gunplay, as well as some explosive mayhem), crude sexual references and other vulgar sexual humor, simulated sex and other sexual contact, flashes of male and female nudity, brief drug content ( ...
Swofford gets the blame because he was supposed to be on watch but had Fergus sit in for him. As a consequence, Swofford is demoted from Lance Corporal (E-3) to Private (E-1) and is forced to undertake the degrading task of burning "diesel fuel" (excrement).
