Sheridan Wyo Dental utilizes “state-of-the-art” dental equipment. The practice is equipped with digital imaging to provide optimal views of your teeth and jaws for necessary detection of dental health problems. All records are paperless and are stored on a secure software system.
Emergency Care
If a patient has a dental emergency, our immediate and primary focus is to provide a prompt appointment to achieve pain relief. We treat all emergencies as top priority and will see those patients the same day, whenever possible.
Preventive Care
Sheridan Wyo Dental has a philosophy that emphasizes preventive care. We offer comprehensive exams that utilize the latest in digital radiography, which includes panoramic imaging. Oral cancer screenings, pit-and-fissure sealants, topical preventive treatments, night guards, athletic mouth guards, and snore prevention appliances are all available at our office. Our talented team of dental hygienists provides preventive care and oral hygiene counseling.
Children’s Dental Care
The doctors and staff at Sheridan Wyo Dental firmly believe that the strongest building block in the foundation for a lifetime of good dental health is receiving quality dental care and having a positive experience at a young age in the dental office. We look forward to caring for the “little ones,” and we emphasize preventive care provided in a pleasant atmosphere. Our goal is to create relaxed and motivated young dental patients. We strive to instill good dental habits that will last a lifetime. We are fortunate to have an excellent pediatric dental specialist in Sheridan who will work with us in the rare event that a child should require special care.
Periodontal Disease Care
The primary focus of the Sheridan Wyo Dental staff is to help a patient achieve the most optimum state of health that is possible. We strongly believe in oral hygiene education, comprehensive home care, and conservative maintenance therapy by our team of hygienists. We will recommend periodontal surgery as a last resort. In the interest of providing the highest quality care available, we are prepared to refer our patients to a highly trained, board-certified periodontist, if the situation warrants.
Restorative Care & Removable Appliances
Sheridan Wyo Dental will provide for all of your dental needs in restorative dental care, including fillings (tooth colored wherever desired), crowns, bridges, partial dentures, full dentures, and all types of dental implant restorations.
Endodontic (Root Canal) Treatment
Sheridan Wyo Dental can save abscessed or fractured teeth with root canal treatments. Most importantly, the doctors will give you an honest evaluation of your prognosis and options. For complicated cases, we have a highly trained and board-certified specialist (endodontist) that we refer to whenever it is the best option.
Oral Surgery
Sheridan Wyo Dental will give you an accurate and thorough assessment of your oral surgery needs, including a discussion of your options. Your basic oral surgery needs can certainly be accommodated at Sheridan Wyo Dental. More complex surgical requirements will be recognized and referred to a highly qualified, board-certified oral surgeon.
Implants
Dental implants are the latest and, to date, best method for replacing missing teeth or teeth lost to extraction. At Sheridan Wyo Dental we provide implant services using a “team” approach. A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon is used to place the implants and, after successful healing, we go on to perform the restorative work. Although some general practitioners place their own implants, we feel that our patients are best served by a surgeon who has at least four years of specialty training and places hundreds of implants per year (as opposed to a general dentist who has taken a course in dental school or a continuing education course and places a very limited number of implants per year). Costs are comparable, and our teamwork is seamless.
Specialists
We have excellent working relationships with many dental specialists, including oral surgeons, orthodontists, periodontists, pediatric dentists, and endodontists. At Sheridan Wyo Dental, our main concern is your health and our goal is that you receive optimal dental care. If you have a complex dental problem and would benefit from treatment provided by a specialist, we will facilitate the referral process for you. All of the practitioners we refer to are board-certified in their specialties, and you can feel confident that we will help oversee and coordinate your treatment.
Infection Control
At Sheridan Wyo Dental, we follow strict protocol to eliminate the spread of bacteria and any risk of cross contamination. These criteria are set forth by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the CDC (Center for Disease Control). You can rest assured that we follow these criteria by doing the following:
- Using sterile, disposable materials whenever possible,
- Sterilizing all instruments
- Properly disinfecting all equipment and surfaces between patients
- Applying universal precautions, including wearing masks, gloves and placing protective barriers on equipment
- Using proper soaps and disinfectants
- Properly collecting and disposing of all waste materials
